*Croft Gardens, Barton Road Petition*


A new group has been formed to protect an important set of 1930s buildings
on one of Cambridge's major approach roads. '*Friends of Croft Gardens*'
have launched a petition asking King's College to reconsider their plans to
demolish the much-admired Croft Gardens and its quirky topiary on Barton

They've also set up a basic website contrasting the current structures and
layout with what they call the 'High-density, heavily massed and
uninteresting' development for student flats as proposed by the College:

 The group are asking the City Council Planning Department for a
Development Control Forum, highlighting the numerous ways the College's
proposal goes against the Local Plan and the National Planning Policy
Framework.
