Dear FeCRA members

 

Residents’ Associations are cordially invited to a Drinks Reception at Murray Edwards Huntingdon Road Buckingham House Foyer on 11 March 18:00-20:30, and a Workshop at Wolfson College Old Combination Room on 12 March (9:00-16:00) at which we can all learn more about 'Beauty In My Back Yard' (BIMBY), an initiative of the Prince's Foundation for Building Community. The BIMBY Housing Toolkit is a simple, practical online tool which empowers communities to work with local authorities to create a Neighbourhood Plan. It is specifically designed to enable communities to establish what development they would like in their area. Cambridge has now been chosen for the launch, so we are very honoured. The Workshops will enable RAs to understand how the process works. A Neighbourhood Plan has to be considered on an equal footing with the Local Plan in planning applications.

This is a unique opportunity to take some of the decision making into residents’ hands.
